Feb 7th Application Deadline

The Blueprint for High Performance

We help your (Gr8-12) Junior Golfer navigate tech-backed swing changes, develop an elite mental game, and undergo personalised physical training and assessments that prioritize injury prevention and performance.

We’ll turn them into the best competitor they can be and provide guidance, resources, and a proven path as they pursue their goals of playing competitively, collegiately, or professionally. All applicants must undergo an assessment and interview before joining the program.

This takes place in a team environment that fosters:

  • Camaraderie & Competition: Building lifelong bonds with peers who share their drive, pushing one another to higher standards every day.

  • Maturity: Developing the character and discipline required for the next level, while also learning social skills to confidently engage with coaches and external partners.

  • No Phones: We believe that a few hours without screens and social media will allow your child to focus and flourish in real-world experiences, relationships, and learning.

  • Safety & Support: Zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination, disrespectful and/or behaviour that could put themselves or other students at risk. All coaches are Canada Safe Sport Certified, background checked, and PGA of Canada Members. Our goal is to support your child in a safe and responsible environment.

A Schedule Built for Balance & REsults

Our attentive and structured high-standard coaching environment runs 5 days a week, utilising both our indoor tech-enabled bays and outdoor facilities. While we offer a full 5-day schedule, a 3-day minimum commitment is required to ensure progress.

Every week, your athlete receives:

  • Dedicated 1-on-1 Coaching: Individualized attention to refine their specific blueprint.

  • Small Group Sessions: High-energy stations focused on skill acquisition.

  • On-Course Lessons: Real-time strategy and "transfer" training where it matters most.

  • Full Membership: All team members receive a Junior Membership at Cordova Bay Golf Course with no tee time restrictions and discounted range balls.

  • Mental Skills: Through our work with LeftBrain your child will undertake mental skills assessments and weekly programming to develop their mental and emotional skills for life and golf.

  • Physical Development and Injury Prevention: Dedicated online exercise programming from a TPI Certified trainer to PGA Tour and LPGA Tour Pros. (Quarterly in-person physical assessments will be conducted and plans will be personalised accordingly)

  • Statistical Feedback Loop: Utilising the same statistical programs used by College, PGA Tour and LPGA Tour athletes, your child will have a clear understanding on areas for improvement, progress, and interventions that will lower scores.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT

“I achieved one of my lifelong golf dreams, receiving a scholarship to an NCAA Division 1 School in the US. I could never have done it without the incredible support and technical expertise from my coaches at Golf Performance Project. They gave me the answers when I wasn’t sure what to focus on in my swing, helped me fix issues with my equipment, and gave me the confidence to play my best.”

The Problem: The “Lonely” and Guessing Game Nature of Junior Golf

Golf can be a lonely sport. Most juniors bounce between a solo range session, chipping with friends, playing 9 holes sporadically, and a quick lesson, hoping it’s enough to keep up. But tournament scores aren’t showing up. It’s stressful for the athlete and confusing for the parent. Are they getting better? Are they working on the right things?

For most juniors there’s very little depth or understanding of cause and effect as it relates to their technique, skill development, scoring, stats, or aspirations into a College Golf Track.

We’ve replaced the isolation with a Team Environment. When your athlete trains with us, they are pushed by their peers, supported by their coaches, and held to a standard that makes "high performance" feel like a normal Tuesday afternoon. We’ve replaced the lack of clarity with a clear Player Development Pathway and support system of tools and resources. This is exactly the environment that exists at the next level, College Golf and beyond. We want to make it crystal clear what it’s going to take to get there, support you as a parent so that you can trust you’ve made the best decision for your child, and support your junior golfer to help them fulfil their potential.

THE PATH STARTS HERE

“I played for my National team and received several scholarship offers from top college programs. I didn’t have a coach or anyone in my corner during high school to guide me during the decision-making process. As a 17yr-old I picked a College program and Coach that was never going to be a good fit. As a junior golfer I also never received much technical or mental game coaching. When my game started struggling due to some technical deficiencies plus the strain of no support network or mental toolkit, I decided to walk away from the game for 10years. No junior golfer deserves to go through that. I think the GPP Junior Team will be a phenomenal resource to talented kids and their parents.” - PGA Professional

Small group and individual lessons will take place here, as well as all equipment checks, tweaks, fittings etc.

  • Junior golfers have the option to receive academic credits for PE and other electives through Sides while being on the GPP Junior Golf Team. This will not prevent them from representing their school or record/catchment but will allow them to structure and optimise their learning/time blocks at school.

  • LeftBrain is a leading personality and mental skills development platform. Each junior golfer and their parents will be required to complete an assessment and contribute to the roadmap of skills that will be developed in coaching sessions and the online portal.

  • We’re constantly expanding our network of 100+ College Coaches at a D1, D2 and NAIA level. Our goal is to provide qualified players with channels to pursue College Scholarships and athletic careers should they choose. Various coaches will be hosting online/in-person sessions with our group.

  • All junior golfers will go through a TPI assessment and receive a customised workout program from our lead TPI coach, who also trains various players on the PGA and LPGA Tours. Players will be expected to meet a threshold of online and in-person training sessions in order to remain in the program.

  • We utilise the leading stats programs used by D1 College coaches and players on the PGA and LPGA Tours. All players are expected to keep detailed stats of their rounds. Coaches will be responsible for indoor assessments, standard deviation and other tests/scoring assessments.

  • Junior golfers will benefit from GPP’s relationships with all golf brands in regards to preferntial pricing on equipment, clothing, and launch monitor technology.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

1000’s of customers and RAVE REVIEWS: GPP ARE YOUR GOLF EXPERTS ON VANCOUVER ISLAND

“Phenomenal experience. I have had coaching and club fitting here and it has been nothing short of remarkable. The facility far exceeded my expectations, and also the coaching. Very knowledgeable and very patient. Can't say enough good things about them. Give them a shot, you'll be happy you did.” - GPP Member

“This is an outstanding place to work on your golf game. The coaches are all highly skilled, easy-going, and great to work with. The technology is top-tier and a huge benefit to have the multiple camera views, foot pressure sensors, and all the other diagnostic tools. I have worked with a few golf coaches and nothing comes close to the Golf Performance Project - highly recommend!” - GPP Member

“I had the pleasure of visiting The Golf Performance Project for an assessment about 4 months ago and was impressed with the entire team from day one. Their teaching approach is both effective and enjoyable, which made me excited to dive into improving my game. I signed up for a membership, and it has completely transformed how much fun I have playing golf. The flexible class scheduling has been a huge plus, and the range of instruction—covering everything from putting and short game to driver-focused sessions and on-course lessons—has really helped round out my skills. Everyone at GPP is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer my questions or share their expertise. If you're serious about taking your game to the next level, I can't recommend these guys enough!” - GPP Member

  • We baseline the athlete: Movement, capacity, ball flight patterns, scoring profile, and competitive habits.

Many junior golfers and parents never take an honest hard look at where they are in the journey, and often don’t have the ability to accurately judge what the next step towards development looks like.

  • We build an individualized development plan with priorities that actually move scoring.

Your child’s plan takes into account their physical and mental development roadmap, their schedule, their strengths and weaknesses and much more.

  • We run weekly training blocks that connect tech, skill work, and on-course transfer.

Most junior golfer waste hours and years of their life trying to get better, and while they might see a slight improvement in scoring they’ve hampered their technique and skill ceiling with the incorrect training interventions.

  • Your child needs to learn to love and thrive in a competitive environment. Contrary to popular belief, no one is born with this skill. Based on feedback from top College coaches we’ve built internal qualification-style events with prizing, tournament prep, and travel support at key events into our program.

  • Our coaching curriculum and skill development is held to a regular and extensive benchmarking process. We re-test frequently, update plans, and keep parents in the loop with real performance metrics so that you know exactly where your child currently stands, what they’re working on, and what success looks like.

“Every time I go to GPP I know I’m getting a tour-like experience. They have technology like force plates, face on and dtl cameras, the GC Quads, grip blowers, loft-lie machines… everything you could possibly want to know about your clubs and swing. I trust the fitting and building process 100% and go get checked once a year to do grips, lofts, lies and all that. Jason has built a great team around performance and they’re always looking for ways to help me get to my next level. They really are the best in the business.” - PGA Professional

FAQs

Is my child good enough for this program?

1

Here's what we care about most: commitment, coachability, and character. If your athlete has those three things, and they have scores we can look at we can make an assessment.

Skill level matters, sure. But we've seen plenty of "talented" kids flame out because they didn't want to do the work. And we've seen "good-not-great" kids make massive leaps because they showed up every day, listened to coaching, and competed with heart.

Apply. Let's have a conversation. We'll assess. And we'll be honest about whether it makes sense.

If it is a fit, we'll meet them where they are and build from there. If it's not, we'll tell you that too — and maybe point you toward something more appropriate.

What IS THE FINANCIAL AND TIME INVESTMENT?

2

Registration fee of $1895 followed by 11 monthly payments of $695. There are no additional fees or costs associated with the program. This includes; Cordova Bay Membership, all fittings and equipment adjustments, all coaching services and coach travel costs, in-person physical training assessments, bay time at GPP, all tee times on Cordova Bay and Ridge courses and all-access to the Parc short game facility. This also includes all software subscriptions for their physical training, stats tracking, swing analysis, simulators and more.

Our program runs 5 days per week. 3hrs per day, during the afternoons. There’s a 3 day per week minimum attendance requirement. While there might be slight changes to the designated 5 weekly days based on tournament or seasonal schedules, our current schedule is Mon-Thur, and Saturdays.

Is 5 Days not too much, what about burnout?

3

That’s a fair concern — and one we take seriously.

Five days a week would be too much if it meant endless range balls, repetitive drills, and constant intensity. But that’s not how we train.

Our programming is periodized: we intentionally vary intensity, volume, and focus across the week and the year to reduce overuse, fatigue, and burnout.

  • Hard days: competition, pressure training, demanding physical work

  • Skill days: video, technique, strategy, mental skills, putting

  • Recovery days: mobility, lighter practice, course walks, games, tournament planning

We prioritize injury prevention, load management, and athlete ownership. If someone is showing fatigue, we adjust. We’re not trying to break athletes. We’re trying to build them.

The team environment helps too: training feels less like grinding and more like momentum—camaraderie, energy, and fun.

Caveat: if your athlete doesn’t truly love golf or isn’t self-motivated yet, this will feel like too much. But for athletes who want to improve and love being around other committed kids? Five days doesn’t feel like burnout. It feels like belonging.

What if my child is a good player but still under 13yrs of age?

4

While it’s unlikely they will be included in this group, we ask that you still apply. We might make an exemption based on their maturity level and/or ability but will have to take several factors into consideration.

We will also be hosting several summer camps for better players in the U13 category and can put them on the waitlist for those.

We are strong supporters and partners to JuniorGolfVictoria.com and suggest that you also take a look at their programs and tournament schedule for 2026.

Can my CHILD still play for their high school team?

5

Yes. Absolutely.

Through our partnership with SIDES, athletes retain their "home school" as their school of record. That means they can compete in:

  • School golf team events

  • League play

  • BC provincial school competitions

This program is designed to complement and enhance school golf, not replace it.

In fact, most athletes find that training here makes them better prepared for school team tryouts, matches, and tournaments.

“The guys at GPP have been a huge help to me during my career. Their equipment expertise and tech-measured qualified instruction is unrivalled. Golfers in Victoria can gain so much by utilising the GPP facility, juniors specifically can speed up their improvement and ability to compete because they’re clear about their swing and not messing around doing things they see on YouTube. - Tour Professional

Is my child guaranteed a college scholarship?

6

Unfortunately not. There are many factors that influence a junior golfer’s ability to receive College/University scholarships, ranging from tournament scores, to physical and emotional development, to academic scores and selected College admission rules.

We built this program around two goals:

  1. Create a true high-performance environment for junior golfers so that they could fulfil their potential.

  2. Prepare and provide them with a clear track and network for the next step in competition—what we believe, for most serious juniors, is College golf.

With these goals in mind we’ve consulted with the leading experts in Junior Golf/Player Development, National Team programs, College Coaches, College recruitment and scholarship offices, Junior and Amateur ranking bodies, statistical analysts, and PGA Tour coaches. We want to ensure that we cover all the bases and run a program that gives your child the best possible opportunity and pathway towards playing College golf, and receiving a scholarship.

What if My kid misses sessions due to school, ilness or family commitments?

7

We get it — life happens. School trips, family events, injuries, and other commitments come up.

Here's our approach:

3-day minimum attendance per week is expected. If your athlete can't commit to that baseline, this program probably isn't viable.

Communication is key. Let us know in advance when possible, and we'll adjust the training plan to keep them progressing even if they miss a session or two.

Make-up sessions: We don't offer formal "make-ups" like a piano lesson (the structure doesn't allow for that), but athletes can use open facility time to work on assigned drills, film swings, or practice on their own with a clear plan.

Injuries: If an athlete gets injured, we'll modify training to keep them engaged and progressing in areas that are safe — putting, mental game work, video analysis, physical therapy exercises, course management study, etc.

The reality: athletes who show up more consistently will progress faster. That's not a penalty — it's just how skill development works. But we're not unreasonable. We'll work with you.

WHY NO CELLPHONES?

8

There will always be a coach present during their 3hrs of training, and you will always be able to reach your child in the event of an emergency or if there’s a change of plans.

The research on cellphone addiction and social media usage for children is pretty damning. We want to give them a break from the noise. For 3 hours, they get to just be athletes, and will interact with other athletes and coaches in person. They love it once they get used to it. This is non-negotiable for our program.

What if they already have a swing coach?

9

We’re not opposed to collaboration but this will have to be a more detailed conversation between us, the player, parents, and any other coach they might currently be working with. We want what’s best for your junior golfer and helping you navigate these type of strategic decisions in their career is why we do what we do.

“The coaches at GPP have really helped me understand what it’s going to take from where I am now (1hcp at 16) to receiving a College Scholarship before I graduate. I won a CJGA Tournament this year thanks to their help, and I’m excited to keep building my swing and game as I grow taller and stronger.” - GPP Junior Member

what if my kid plays other sports? Can they still participate?

10

We love multi-sport athletes. They tend to be better competitors, more resilient, and less likely to burn out.

That said, this program requires a 3-day minimum commitment per week. If your athlete plays hockey, basketball, or soccer at a competitive level and simply can't make that minimum, the timing might not be right.

But if they can manage the schedule (even if it means training 3 days some weeks and 5 days other weeks depending on their sport season), we'll work with you.

The key is communication. Let us know the schedule conflicts upfront, and we'll be realistic about whether it's viable.

Some of our best athletes are multi-sport competitors who bring lessons from other sports into their golf game. We won't force you to choose — but we do need a minimum commitment to make the program effective.

do you help with the mental side of golf?

11

Yes — it’s a major focus, and one of the biggest areas we see athletes change.

We use LeftBrain to assess personality traits, mental models, belief systems and build a personalized mental training plan, then we train skills like:

  • Pre-shot routines for consistency under pressure

  • Breathwork + anxiety tools to stay calm when it matters

  • Visualization and mental rehearsal

  • Self-talk strategies after mistakes

  • Identity work (self-worth ≠ score)

  • Pressure training so competition feels familiar

The key is this: mental skills aren’t learned by talking about them—they’re built through reps under pressure. That’s why we run weekly internal competitions with scoring, consequences, and rankings. Your child will take ownership of their golf, their mindset and their life habits through our mental training framework.

Since we have golfers from several different schools with varying schedules in our group we can’t provide transport services. For training sessions at our facilities (Golf Performance Project, Cordova Bay), parents (or carers) drop off and pick up.

For tournaments, families handle their own travel and logistics. However, in some cases (especially for multi-day events or travel to provincial/national tournaments), we may coordinate carpooling among families or help arrange shared transportation with coaches, with parental permission and waivers.

Our coaches will travel to key tournaments to provide on-site support, but they're not responsible for transporting athletes unless specifically arranged.

If transportation is a significant barrier for your family, let us know during the application process. We may be able to connect you with other families in your area/school for carpooling.

DO you provide transportation to training sessions or tournaments?

12

Let's separate two scenarios:

Scenario 1: Personality mismatch with a coach

We have multiple coaches on staff, and while we assign athletes strategically, sometimes personalities don't click. That's normal.

If your athlete genuinely isn't connecting with their primary coach, talk to us. We can adjust coaching assignments or bring in a different voice for certain areas.

But if the issue is that your athlete doesn't like being held accountable or doesn't respond well to any coaching, that's a different problem — and one we'll address directly.

Scenario 2: Conflict with another athlete

This is part of being on a team. Conflict happens. Competitive athletes have strong personalities.

Here's how we handle it:

  • We address it directly and early (no letting it fester)

  • We teach conflict resolution (how to communicate, how to compete without tearing each other down)

  • We emphasize team culture over individual egos

But we also have boundaries. If an athlete is disrespectful, bullying, or creating a toxic environment, we'll remove them. We don't compromise team culture for anyone.

Bottom line: Not everyone will be best friends. But everyone will be respectful, supportive teammates. That's non-negotiable.

If personality issues arise, communicate with us early. We'll handle it.

can parents observe training sessions?

14

Occasional observation is welcome — but regular attendance isn't.

Here's why:

We want parents to understand what their athlete is working on and see the program in action. Transparency matters. That's why we provide detailed weekly updates, quarterly reports, dashboard access, and scheduled parent meetings.

However, parents are not participants in training sessions — and we've found that regular parental presence can negatively impact the coaching environment and team culture. Daily or weekly attendance? We'll respectfully ask you to step back and trust the process.

Here's our policy:

You're welcome to observe a portion of a session occasionally. But we ask that you don't make a habit of attending sessions. Here's why:

It creates distraction. Athletes perform differently when parents are watching. Some try to impress. Some get self-conscious. Some look to their parent for approval or feedback instead of focusing on the coach.

It undermines independence. Part of development is learning to own your process, make decisions, and regulate yourself without parental oversight. If a parent is always there, the athlete never learns self-reliance.

It can disrupt team culture. When one parent is there every day, other athletes notice. It can create awkwardness, comparison, or a sense that the training environment isn't just for the athletes.

It puts coaches in a difficult position. If parents are present, coaches sometimes feel pressure to explain every decision, justify every drill, or manage parental reactions, instead of focusing fully on athlete development.

You won't be left in the dark:

We provide:

  • Weekly session summaries (what was worked on, key takeaways, video clips)

  • Quarterly progress reports (comprehensive data, assessments, updated development plans)

  • Full dashboard access (stats, video library, training logs — see what we see)

  • Quarterly parent meetings (scheduled sit-downs with coach, athlete, and parent to review progress and discuss next steps)

  • Open communication (questions or concerns? Reach out anytime — we'll respond)

Our coaching staff is always available if there's something specific you want to discuss. You don't need to be at every session to stay informed or involved. Trust the process, and provide space for your child to immerse themselves in their development.

what changes should i expect to see in their first few months?

15

The changes are often surprising.

On the golf side:

  • More consistent ball-striking (they start to understand several aspects of their swing and how it relates to improvement and consistency in ball flight)

  • Better course management (they stop trying hero shots and start playing smart golf)

  • Improved short game confidence (they actually want to practice chipping and putting now)

  • Faster club speed (physical training + better sequencing = measurable gains)

Off the golf side (and this is where parents get emotional):

  • More maturity and self-regulation (they manage their emotions better, on and off the course)

  • Stronger time management skills (balancing school, training, and life gets easier)

  • Increased ownership and accountability (they stop making excuses and start problem-solving)

  • Genuine friendships with teammates (they finally have peers who "get it")

One parent told us: "I came for the technical golf coaching. What I didn't expect was watching my kid grow up right in front of me."

That's what happens when you combine high standards with genuine support. The golf improves. But the person develops faster.
