What is a Golf Club Fitting ?

We love this question! A club fitting starts with you. Your goals and objectives for the game of golf.

Why guess when you can measure? We first measure and run a test with your equipment, your gamers, to better understand the improvements that need to be made to meet your stated goals.

On to testing new equipment.

Firstly, a golf club has three main components, the head, the shaft, and the grip. The characteristics of each of these components has an affect on both you the golfer, and of course, the ball does. You are not a robot and won’t swing clubs with varying weights, lengths, a flexes the same. Your fitter is an expert in assessing not only the ball flight, but also what club allows you to move the most effortlessly and consistently.

Our unique process first assesses your connection to the golf club, the grip, by first testing various grip sizes. We then use that same grip size to fit you for the rest of the fitting. Grip size can affect club head speed, club face control, and of course the golfer’s comfort and preference. Our unique system allows us to quickly change a grip onto a new shaft in a matter of seconds.

Next, using the same grip size, we test shafts to optimize your club head speed, ball speed and understand what is necessary to achieve your optimal launch conditions.

We narrow the process to the club head that produces the launch, carry, and dispersion patterns which meet your stated goals.

Through out the fitting your fitter will continue to use data and your feedback to move to an optimal set up.

Finally, we present the data collected from the fitting and allow science to guide your decision to purchase new equipment. The data will present one of two scenario’s. There is a new equipment set up that will allow you to reach your stated goals. Or, your existing gamers are actually performing optimally. Either way, your decision to purchase new golf equipment will be well informed and based on objective data.

Welcome to the “Bubble”. We fit inside. In our private fitting bay the conditions are 100% controlled so we can assess the performance of the equipment with no distractions or variables. The most effective way to fit golf clubs is to take away variables like weather and a static indoor environment is the best way to do that. We also want you to test your own equipment, your gamers, in this same environment. This way you will have data to make an informed decision on your new equipment.

If you want spicy, well, we can do spicy. Players with very high club head speed often benefit from the newest shaft technology, but even for these players we have a huge selection options.
  3. I have to have a certain brand. Coming in with an open mind is s huge asset toward getting the best performing clubs for your game. Our fitting tools include Callaway, Taylor Made, Srixon, Cleveland, Honma, Titleist and PING.
  4. There’s only one right fit. Not likely, but possibly. The equipment brands we support all win on the PGA and LPGA tours every year. There is a good chance your will have the option to make a choice based on your preference
